HJS has made the development, manufacture and supply of environmental protection technologies designed to reduce pollutant emissions from combustion engines its core business. These innovative technologies are deployed by known names in the automotive industry and specialist engine manufacturers as original equipment, while fleet operators and large retail organisations in the classic aftermarket install and sell them as retrofit solutions.

In addition to systems for spark-ignition engines (e.g. three-way catalytic converters), HJS specialises in pollutant emission reduction technologies for diesel engines – in particular, systems for reducing the emissions of soot particles (PM) and nitrogen oxides.

These include diesel particulate filter systems (DPF^®) for reducing particulate (soot) emissions and SCRT^® technology (Selective Catalytic Reduction Technology) for simultaneous reduction of particulates, nitrogen oxides and other gaseous components of diesel exhaust gases.
