The right system for your requirements
SMF® for vehicles with a high share of overland and motorway traffic
The right system for
long-haul traffic – that is, trucks primarily used for
long-distance overland and motorway transport – is HJS's proven SMF
® sintered metal filter. Exhaust gas temperatures of between 250°C and 450°C in the silencer are required for
SMF® systems in order for regeneration to be triggered. Trucks deployed in overland and motorway transport normally reach this temperature range without any problem.
CSMF® for vehicles with a low share of overland and motorway traffic
By contrast, HJS's
CSMF® system* (coated sintered metal filter) is the right system for short-
haul traffic, i.e. vehicles primarily deployed in
inner-city traffic and for short journeys. The temperature range between 250°C and 450°C required for regeneration of the filter is rarely reached under these operating conditions, because the average exhaust gas temperature of such vehicles is lower. To assist regeneration at lower temperatures, the CSMF
® system is equipped with a specially developed catalytic coating.
*To ensure proper and regular regeneration of CSMF® systems, the enquiry form drawn up by HJS must be completed with care, and we recommend that operators request specific approval from HJS that the system can be installed in their vehicle. Please specify rough average percentages for the various kinds of traffic conditions in which your truck/s is/are deployed, e.g. 60% motorway / 40% inner-city.
