Nitrogen oxide reduction

When fuel is combusted in a diesel engine, this gives rise not only to soot particles, but also to gaseous emissions such as nitrogen oxides. As far as environmental considerations are concerned, nitrogen oxides are very much under fire, because they are converted to ozone when exposed to sunlight. Ozone is an irritant gas and can damage people´s respiratory passages. The formation of smog and ´acid rain´ are other negative consequences of high nitrogen oxide levels. The reduction of nitrogen oxide emissions is, then, very important in terms of human health and the environment.

Systematic use of diesel exhaust-gas aftertreatment systems makes it possible for these pollutants to be eliminated and for vehicles and machinery alike to be operated cleanly and efficiently. This is where SCRT® technology from HJS plays an important role.
