These will be on display at the Innotrans trade fair in Berlin.  <\/em><\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Goal: Reduce diesel exhaust emissions, meet new standards<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Original equipment and retrofitting for drive systems<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>SCRT<\/strong><strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong><strong>-technology makes the tracks cleaner <\/strong> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>The rail industry is facing major challenges. Modern trains need modern drives &#8211; without diesel exhaust gases with their harmful nitrogen oxides and soot particles becoming a burden for people. HJS provides a remedy and supplies systems to reduce emissions and meet strict standards. These will be presented at Innotrans in Berlin from September 18 to 21, 2018.   <\/p>\n\n<p>HJS delivers innovations across the board; the OEM original equipment manufacturer develops customized solutions for small auxiliary drives through to large main drives with more than 1000 kW. The Sauerland-based company is a long-standing OE supplier of exhaust aftertreatment technology to renowned engine manufacturers and manufacturers of track maintenance machines with over 40 years of comprehensive system expertise. The range of exhaust technology for diesel, petrol and gas engines is complemented by a comprehensive service and after-market network.  <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>EU regulation tightens emission values<br\/><\/strong>It is particularly important to meet new requirements and use the latest technology for clean air in the rail sector. From 2021, the emission values will be tightened in accordance with an EU regulation (2016\/1628). This stipulates Stage V for all engine outputs: Locomotives and railcars are affected (requirement for limit value and number of particles), even below 130kW. In order to meet the requirements of Stage V, HJS relies on <sup>SCRT\u00ae<\/sup> technology for engines used to drive railcars.   <\/p>\n\n<p>In addition to the original equipment, HJS also retrofits road-rail and track maintenance machines in cooperation with renowned sales and service partners. The use of <sup>SCRT\u00ae<\/sup> technology minimizes pollutant emissions. Stage II engines can be retrofitted in such a way as to achieve limit values that are prescribed in stages IV or V.  <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>How the <\/strong><strong>SCRT<\/strong><strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong>&#8211;<strong>technology works<br\/><\/strong>Retrofitting with SCRT\u00ae <sup>technology<\/sup> is based on a CRT particulate filter that separates particles down to the detection limit and AdBlue\u00ae technology. An SCR module is used to reduce the gaseous nitrogen oxides (NOx). SCR stands for Selective Catalytic Reduction. AdBlue\u00ae is added to the exhaust gas to convert the nitrogen oxides. This is converted into ammonia (NH3) in the hot exhaust gas, which in turn reacts with the nitrogen oxides to form harmless nitrogen and water vapor.    <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>When others switch off, we switch on!<br\/><\/strong>As co-owner of the <sup>SCRT\u00ae<\/sup> patent, HJS presents a retrofit solution with active thermal management. The patent-pending solution from the established system supplier HJS was developed in accordance with original equipment requirements and subjected to a tough test program. Thanks to active thermal management, the system is functionally reliable &#8211; even in demanding low-load or shunting operation.
