Together with its English partners EEL, the South Westphalian company has been awarded the contract for the retrofit in London.    <\/em><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>HJS is part of the future air pollution control project in London<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Supplement for retrofitting city buses<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Advantages: Cleaner buses, better air<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>London Mayor Sadiq Khan has kept his promise. London is providing major funding for better air quality and cleaner buses. Around 90 million euros are being invested in retrofitting city buses with <sup>SCRT\u00ae<\/sup> systems. HJS, the South Westphalian specialist for emissions technology, came out on top in an extensive tendering process. The Menden-based company is one of the four selected suppliers whose highly efficient exhaust systems have been approved by the London Transport Authority.    <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Extensive framework agreement with transport authority<\/h3>\n\n<p>A comprehensive and complex framework agreement was negotiated and signed with the umbrella organization Transport for London (TfL), which coordinates the transport systems in London, for the delivery and installation of the systems.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Long-term commitment in England<\/h3>\n\n<p>With this nomination, HJS and its long-standing English partners EEL have achieved the breakthrough for a long-term commitment in England. Over the next five years, around 5,800 buses in London are to be retrofitted &#8211; and thus brought up to the latest Euro VI emissions standard. The British government has provided funding of around 78 million pounds sterling (equivalent to around 89 million euros) for this purpose.  <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Telematics system: control over emissions<\/h3>\n\n<p>All vehicles will also be equipped with a telematics system with GPS function so that the emissions of the buses can be monitored at all times. The device specially developed by HJS for this purpose allows online access to the entire control system and the system&#8217;s electronics. In this way, emission values in particular, but also technical data, faults, routes and locations or fuel consumption can be checked and monitored in detail.  <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">London as a lighthouse project for the whole of Europe<\/h3>\n\n<p>The quickest and most cost-effective solution to solving the problem of air quality in cities is to put city buses at the center of the strategy. In this sense, the city of London is a pioneer in improving air quality throughout Europe. The retrofitting in Europe&#8217;s largest metropolis has set a great example for other major cities in the UK and Europe. It will certainly have a positive influence on efforts to improve air quality within a short period of time through retrofitting.   <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Over 90 percent less harmful nitrogen oxide emissions<\/h3>\n\n<p>The South Westphalian exhaust gas aftertreatment specialist has already set standards with its <sup>SCRT\u00ae<\/sup> system. The modular system developed by HJS removes not only soot particles but also nitrogen oxide pollutants (NOx) almost completely from diesel exhaust gases. Harmful nitrogen oxide emissions from diesel engines can be reduced by well over 90 percent in this way.  <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important milestone for London &#8211; and for HJS<\/h3>\n\n<p>HJS is proud to be retrofitting thousands of city buses with effective technologies to help London move towards a cleaner, less polluting future.
