Virtually emission-free in the non-road segment
Due to the new EU Stage V emissions standard, which came into force on January 1, 2019 emissions in the non-road segment are reduced by up to 98 percent. For many engine manufacturers, it is a major challenge to fit appropriate exhaust aftertreatment components into the installation spaces of mobile machinery. The new HJS Swirl Cap Mixer makes it possible to install a highly efficient AdBlue ®-mixture preparation at low exhaust back pressures. The modular system can be adapted to a wide range of engine sizes and installation space requirements.

As a leading, holistic exhaust system specialist, HJS offers a highly flexible AdBlue® mixture preparation system with the Swirl Cap Mixer, which is integrated in the DPF output module. The dosing of the urea water solution (AdBlue®), which is mixed with the exhaust gas and vaporized, takes place in the mixing section. The diameter and length of the Swirl Cap Mixer are scalable thanks to the modular system. This makes it easy to integrate into a wide variety of installation spaces. Even with a short mixing section, almost complete evaporation is achieved – the uniform distribution upstream of the SCR catalytic converter is very high. This results in maximum NOx conversions greater than 97 percent and the minimization of critical deposits. High robustness, lowCO2and pollutant emissions below Stage V – the new
product family from HJS resolves this seemingly contradictory conflict of objectives.
Variable arrangement
In order to offer its OEM customers as well as retrofitters a suitable solution for all conceivable systems in the power classes from 56 to 560 KW, the development team at the Menden-based company focused on a variable arrangement from the outset. Whether horizontal or vertical, a flexible installation position close to the engine is possible. In the mixing section, complete mixture preparation is achieved in the shortest possible way, enabling a very compact design. The high temperatures resulting from the installation close to the engine lead to a high degree of efficiency.
“After intensive development work, we are very happy that our new product not only meets the requirements of Stage V legislation and beyond, but that we can also offer our customers and partners a compact and robust solution for different engine outputs and displacement classes,” emphasizes Managing Director Dr.-Ing. “For the wide variety of NRMM (Non-Road Mobile Machinery) applications, our Swirl Cap Mixer enables us to achieve NOxreductions that seemed absolutely unattainable just a few years ago.”
From April 8 to 14, 2019, the HJS team will be available for discussions and information on the subject of exhaust gas cleaning systems at bauma 2019 in Hall A5, Stand 203.
