HJS systems also bring existing vehicles and machines up to the latest emission levels. HJS not only develops and manufactures innovative systems for original equipment, we also develop and sell complete system solutions for retrofitting to reduce pollutant emissions from combustion engines. We serve all types of vehicles, from vans to commercial vehicles/local public transport and construction machinery. Our products are based on many years of broad experience from our cooperation with all well-known European engine and vehicle manufacturers.
Our modular system enables system application with little technical and time expenditure. All products meet the highest quality standards, our systems function reliably even under the most critical operating conditions and sustainably reduce pollutant emissions under all circumstances. The operator receives a robust, certified solution from a single source. From project planning to installation and after-sales support, with HJS our customers have a contact they can always rely on 100%.
Our highlights in detail
HJS SCRT-TM® – integrated exhaust system with two-stage active thermal management
The HJS AdBlue® system has been designed so that it can also be integrated into extremely compact installation spaces. Soot particles are reduced to the detection limit in the smallest installation space and a drastic reduction in nitrogen oxides to Stage V or EURO VI level is achieved. The integrated, self-sufficient thermal management enables very high nitrogen oxide reduction rates and robust regeneration of the particulate filter, even at extremely low exhaust gas temperatures.
HJS has developed the technology modules for the complex system architecture over several years:
- Extremely compact mixing section with minimized exhaust back pressure and optimum uniform distribution of the AdBlue®
- State-of-the-art catalytic converter technology with high efficiency levels
- Electric heating catalytic converter incl. HJS control unit and power electronics
- Exhaust back pressure flap as an integral part of the thermal management system
- HJS Aftertreatment Control Unit (ACU) with complete software functionality for controlling all exhaust aftertreatment components. AdBlue® dosing logic, DPF loading and regeneration control, full Stage V and Tier4final OBD functionality. Control of all dosing components available on the market
“Exhaust gas aftertreatment is seen as a risk by many machine operators. There are concerns about deposits in the SCR and also worries about particle filters blocking. We have put a lot of effort into the development and testing of all our systems to ensure that these problems do not occur,” explains HJS Technik Managing Director Dr. Christoph Menne. “Using intelligent concepts, complex 3D CFD simulations, hot gas and engine test bench tests, we ensure that our systems are extremely robust and function under all boundary conditions. True to our motto “You create performance – We create clean air ” – my team and I are very proud of this”.
HJS Swirl Cap Compact Mixing Module – Modular mixture preparation complements the HJS modular system
The new EU Stage V emissions standard, which came into force on January 1, 2019, will reduce pollutant emissions in the non-road segment by up to 98 percent. For many engine manufacturers, it is a major challenge to fit appropriate exhaust aftertreatment components into the installation spaces of mobile machinery. The new HJS Swirl Cap Mixer enables highly efficient AdBlue® mixture treatment with low exhaust back pressures in the smallest of installation spaces. The modular system can be adapted to a wide range of engine sizes and installation space requirements. The development team at the Menden-based company has implemented a variable arrangement for the power classes from 56 – 560 KW. Whether horizontal or vertical, a flexible installation position close to the engine is possible. In the mixing section, complete mixture preparation is achieved in the shortest possible way, enabling a very compact design. The high temperatures resulting from the installation close to the engine lead to a high degree of efficiency.
Diameters and lengths of the Swirl Cap Mixer are scalable. This makes it easy to integrate into a wide variety of installation spaces. Even with a short mixing section, almost complete evaporation is achieved. This results in maximum NOx conversions greater than 97 percent and the minimization of critical deposits.
From April 8 to 14, 2019, the HJS team will be available for discussions and information on the subject of exhaust gas cleaning systems at bauma 2019 in Hall A5, Stand 203.
