When the Cologne Rose Monday parade takes place on February 24,
a total of seven tractors equipped with HJS diesel particulate filters will be riding along
. The joint project with the festival committee of the Cologne
carnival has the motto “Jecke trecke blitzblank”.
Despite all the exuberance at the height of the carnival season, the issue of environmental protection should not be overlooked. For this reason, HJS Emission Technologie GmbH & Co KG has equipped an initial batch of seven diesel tractors belonging to the Cologne Carnival Committee with the SMF®-ER filter system, which almost completely removes harmful soot particles from the exhaust gas. Gradually, all the tractors in the “Zoch” are to be retrofitted.

Award-winning filter technology
The HJS diesel particulate filters ensure clean air by effectively retaining the
soot particles, including fine dust, in their interior
and continuously cleaning themselves of the deposited soot. The technology was awarded the German Environmental Prize for this
.
Particularly suitable for sporadic use
The robust and low-maintenance SMF®-ER system is particularly suitable for machines that are not in permanent use. Quick-release clamps make installation extremely easy, as is dismantling.
The load level of the filter is monitored using an attached pressure gauge. When the limit value is reached, the module is simply pulled out and cleaned externally.
