Big sigh of relief for motorhome owners
HJS once again confirms its leading position on the market and presents the first approved (ABE) SCR retrofit system for Fiat Ducato Euro 5 models.
For motorhome owners, freedom and closeness to nature are paramount. Right now, the desire to discover new places and cities and meet new people is once again enticing. Since the discussion about diesel driving bans, this wish has taken on a pale aftertaste. In view of the high levels of nitrogen oxide pollution in cities, nobody wants to fail or even think about driving bans in low emission zones
must. To avoid driving bans, motorhome owners can install an SCR retrofit. Motorhome owners in particular attach great importance to the environment and nature and want to travel as ecologically and cleanly as possible. The topic of SCR retrofitting in line with EURO 6 emission values is therefore attracting a great deal of interest, particularly among motorhomes based on the Fiat Ducato.

SCR retrofit solution for the Fiat Ducato
For the first time in 2018, the ADAC tested the first selective catalytic reduction systems (SCR systems) in Euro 5 diesels from several manufacturers. Even back then, the SCR system from HJS Emission Technology GmbH & Co KG for vans stood out in particular. Now the Sauerland-based company is following up with the first system for the Fiat Ducato Euro 5 on the market following successful long-term testing and the granting of an ABE.
HJS as market leader
Even at the beginning of the discussions about diesel retrofitting and driving bans, HJS impressed with innovative and high-quality solutions for commercial vehicles. After the legislator extended registrations to include privately used vehicles, HJS once again proved its worth with an SCR system for motorhomes that enables Euro 5 vehicles to achieve Euro 6 emission levels. Models such as the VW Crafter, VW T5 (also all-wheel drive), MB Sprinter and Vito as well as Ford Transit and Iveco Daily are exempt from driving bans for Euro 5 vehicles when retrofitted.
The hardware retrofit for Fiat Ducato is available immediately for the Multijet 130 (96 kW, 2.3 liters) and Multijet 150 (109 kW, 2.3 liters) engines. Towards the end of 2021, the SCR retrofit solution will also be available for the Ducato with the 3-liter engine. The costs for the SCR retrofit incl. Installation and VAT amount to around €7,500. The systems are sold and installed by HJS competence and installation partners, including registration of the retrofit system in the vehicle documents. A nationwide overview of competence and installation partners can be found on the website https://www.hjs.com/wohnmobile/. You can also find systems for other manufacturers here.
Efficient exhaust gas cleaning – even at low temperatures and in partial load operation
HJS retrofit systems of the current generation are specially optimized for use in urban operation. Using proven SCR technology, the innovative HJS hardware converts nitrogen oxides (NOx) into harmless nitrogen and water vapor by adding the additive AdBlue®. So-called active thermal management ensures that the SCR catalytic converter always works under the best possible operating conditions and thus achieves the highest possible NOx reduction.
